Financial Assistance
Graduate Assistantships are available at stipends which range from approximately $13,000 to $15,000 for the academic year, with waiver of tuition. Duties may involve tutoring, grading, teaching a class, or assisting a professor. Assistantships are renewable.
Faculty
The Department has an extremely able faculty of about thirty-five members. Their research interests span the entire range of modern mathematics research (research interests) and there are strong groups in all the major fields.
The student/faculty ratio is favorable and this allows for a great deal of individual attention.
