I always try to enjoy the beauty of math when studying, not how complicated the problems themselves are.

Teaching

As the old Chinese saying indicates "Teaching at the same time is learning" and is a happy thing to do. I feel satisfied knowing that students are willing to learn and try to think accurately and efficiently.

One thing I learnt from Dr. Nation last semester when being a TA of his is that:

Don't try things the harder way

Due to the mistake I made when migrating files to the new laptop, some files were lost. Herunder are links for course related materials recovered from misdeleting and misformating.

Qualifying Exams

Take them or not, it's good to enjoy the condensed, hidden beauty both the test makers want to present and the test takers are supposed to expose.

Solutions provided in the files this link will lead you to are joint efforts by me, my classmates and professors here at the UHM math department to whom I owe deep gratefulness and who are not responsible for the mistakes in the arguments.

Education/Research

At present I am intersted in Statistics and differential geometry, random process, financial mathemtaics. I wrote three papers on natural gradient for simple neural networks when I was in my master's program in Math at Sichuan University,China. ( I need to convert them into pdf)
Hereunder are the links to these papers:
Paper 1
Paper 2
Paper 3

Hereunder are some notes I made when reading Volume 1 of M. Spivak's book "A comprehensive Introduction to Differential Geometry" and Chern's book "Lecture Notes in Differential Geometry":
Differential Geometry Note 1

Mini E-Library

I have collected some graduate texts and references in electronic formats, eg., .pdf, .djvu. Due to copyright restrictions, I can only put few that are relevant to the exams here. Please contact me and give me the infomation of the book you want and I'll email you the book if I do have it.

For .djvu files, just install a djvu browser plugin or obtain a professional djvu file editor if you want edit and make notes whiling reading the materials.
