Math 253A, Fall 2004

Syllabus & Homework

On this page you will find a short syllabus for Math 253A indicating the topics and sections of the text we will cover. You should check this page frequently to obtain your homework assignments.

Note on Homework: The information on this page is relevant only for Math 253 taught by Prof. Guentner. If you are in Math 243 or 244 you may still find the page useful although dates and homework assignments will differ for your course..

Course Syllabus

The course is a continuation of Math 252A. The topics are differential and integral calculus of two and three variables, culminating with Green's Theorem, Stokes' Theorem and the Divergence Theorem. These generalizations of the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus (which you all remember from M251!?) are really the heart of the course.

In other words, we will be covering all of Chapters 11, 12, 13 and 14 in the textbook.

The pace of the course will be brutal; we will have to maintain a rate of about least one section per class period in order to cover the material.

Detailed Syllabus & Homework Assignments

You should try to do all the problems. Quizzes are marked in red.
