The information on this page is relevant only for the section of Math 221 taught by Prof. Guentner.

If you are in Prof. Its's section you may still find the page useful; by and large it contains accurate information for her section as well, although precise dates and homework assignments differ somewhat for the two sections.

Course Syllabus

The topic of the course is calculus of a single variable. As the name suggests we will spend our time developing the differential and integral calculus for functions of a single variable. The prerequisites for the course are Math 153-154, or equivalent.

This means that we will be covering most of Chapters 2-6 of the textbook. We will try to maintain a rate of approximately one section per class period, but will slow down somewhat if this proves to be too ambitious.
