listing_01.txt
density_01.gif
This code implements the method suggested by exercise 6.1.22 of W. R. Scott's Group Theory book for determining whether a finite group has a nontrivial normal subgroup. The listing shows the orders of groups up to 1000 which are determined to have a non-trivial normal subgroup by this method. The graph in the third link illustrates the density of orders of groups determined to have a nontrivial normal subgroup by this method.
- weird_sequence.nb
This is the code to generate the unusual sequence defined in the first problem of "Problem Solving Through Problems" by Larson
- prime_tangle.nb
tangle.gif
This notebook generates a graphic based on the distribution of the prime numbers modulo 8.
